US President Joe Biden will meet with congressional leaders, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, to speed up the allocation of a financial aid package to Ukraine.

It is noted that Biden "will discuss the urgency of passing a bipartisan amendment on national security and keeping the government open.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries will also attend the event, according to a congressional aide.
He also noted that the White House believes that the aid, approved by a bipartisan vote in the Senate, could also be supported in the House of Representatives if Johnson brings it to a vote.
What is known about the draft law on aid to Ukraine
On February 13, the United States Senate approved a $95.3 billion international aid bill, including funding for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
The document provides for more than $60 billion to Ukraine, $14 billion to Israel and $4.83 billion to support partners in the Indo-Pacific region, including Taiwan, and deter aggression from China.
It will also provide $9.15 billion in humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, Ukraine, and other conflict zones worldwide.
For final approval, the bill must be voted on by the House of Representatives, and then the document must be signed by US President Joe Biden.
On February 16, the United States House of Representatives went into recess without a vote on the aid financing package for Ukraine.
