The German arms industrial giant Rheinmetall wants to build a new factory to produce ammunition. This will ensure constant ammunition supplies to Ukraine.

Rheinmetall will build a new ammo factory

The enterprise CEO, Armin Papperger, In an interview with BILD, emphasised the excellent cooperation between the federal government and the arms industry.

Much has changed for the better in military procurement. Rheinmetall alone received orders or framework agreements from the federal government worth more than 10 billion euros last year — for the Bundeswehr and for Ukraine. This year, this amount will increase to at least 15 billion.

He dismissed allegations of slow deliveries.

The pace is fast: what used to take ten years is now accomplished in months. We will now build a new munitions factory in Germany in record time to create strategic security of supply.

The dates and location of the plant's construction remain unknown.

The pace of ammunition deliveries to Ukraine

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that his country will deliver more than 200,000 artillery ammunition to Ukraine.

But Pistorius also said the federal government would eventually depend on the arms industry.

The industry is trying incredibly hard, but it is still in pre-war mode. It just doesn't happen that fast, obviously.
