According to The Times, Ukraine received Martlet missiles from Great Britain.

Martlet missiles for Ukraine. How they will be used

According to journalists, London has already handed over to Kyiv the newest Martlet multi-purpose guided missiles, which are highly effective in combating whole groups of attack drones, in particular, Iranian "Shaheds", with which Russia attacks the territory of our country daily.

However, it is worth noting that there is no official confirmation of the transfer of Martlet missiles to Ukraine.

The Times team points out that the Martlet is a light, multi-purpose guided missile developed by Thales Air Defense.

It has been in service in Great Britain for the past two years. Its flight range is up to 8 kilometres.

According to journalists, the missile was named Martlet only after it was put into service in Great Britain.

What is also important to understand is that it is part of a single family of weapons that can be used in different modes:

  • Marine;

  • surface-to-surface;

  • air-launched;

  • surface-to-air

In April 2022, it became known that the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine used the British LMM Martlet MANPADS at the front for the first time to fight against Russian drones of the "Orlan-10" type.

What is known about new models of weapons and equipment of the Ukrainian army

Today, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have about 70 modifications of drones and more than 20 different types of ammunition.

In addition, it is reported that six new models of EW (particularly the so-called trench ones) have recently been put into operation.

The Ministry of Defense and the General Staff have finished testing tactical means of radio interference to loitering munition and FPV drones. They were developed by Ukrainian enterprises, and the products were tested in conditions close to combat conditions.
