According to analysts from the RUSI British Research Centre, the aggressor country of the Russian Federation currently has enough personnel, armoured vehicles, artillery and aviation to continue the war against Ukraine.

How many occupiers of the Russian army and enemy equipment are fighting against Ukraine

Experts note that about 470,000 Russian war criminals are involved in waging a criminal war on the territory of Ukraine.

In addition, the group of the occupying Russian army in Ukraine has 2,600 tanks, 7,80o APVs of various modifications, mainly MT-LB, BMPs and armored personnel carriers, 1,130 self-propelled guns, about 4,780 artillery systems, of which 20% are self-propelled howitzers.

It is noted that Russian war criminals can count on air support from 310 strike aircraft and 290 helicopters, of which 110 are strike.

Analysts warn that the aviation of the Russian occupiers this year will be able to provide robust support to the ground forces, which will affect the course of hostilities.

At the same time, as RUSI emphasises, aviation is currently experiencing a shortage of experienced pilots.

How long will Russia have enough resources to continue the war

In addition, analysts report problems with the artillery of the occupiers.

In particular, the supply of 152-mm projectiles to the occupying Russian army units is precarious.

In addition, analysts point to a lack of ammunition for the Uragan MLRS.

RUSI emphasises that during this and next year, the Ministry of Defence of the aggressor country plans to increase the production of ammunition significantly; however, the Russian industry is unlikely to be able to implement the prepared plan.

Therefore, analysts note that the two million shells received from North Korea will strengthen the occupying army, but this will not be enough for a clear advantage.

Analysts also note that during the past year, the number of occupation army personnel involved in the criminal war against Ukraine increased from 360,000 to 470,000.

Looking at the numbers, RUSI analysts came to the conclusion that the Kremlin expects to fight until 2026, because this is the "planning horizon" that the current resource base of the Russians gives them.
