British intelligence says that the downing of three Russian Su-34 fighter jets over southern Ukraine has affected Russian military operations on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region.
Russia's inability to establish air superiority undermines its operations
According to intelligence, on 22 December, our military shot down three Russian Su-34 combat aircraft over southern Ukraine. The enemy's tactical aviation played a key role in attacking the Ukrainian foothold on the eastern bank of the Dnipro river.
Following these losses, Russia almost completely ceased manned operations in the south by the end of December 2023. It is likely that it was the lack of air support that led to the failure of the 18th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Land Forces to liberate the foothold.
What preceded it
On 22 December, it was reported that in the southern part of the frontline, the Ukrainian Air Force shot down three enemy aircraft that were trying to launch anti-aircraft missiles at the Kherson region.
The details of the special operation were reported by the spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Yurii Ihnat, on Army TV.
The occupiers have already confirmed in their publications that they wish the Russian pilots "eternal flight". They say that they even managed to take someone alive from the scene, says Ihnat.
