According to Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the GUR, the Russian-Ukrainian war can last quite a long time, since the dictator Putin is not going to fulfill Kyiv's demands about the peace agreement.

Ukrainians should prepare for a long-term war

The chief of Ukrainian intelligence predicts that the Russian invaders will continue chaotic bomb and artillery shelling, but without intensive combat operations.

Due to that kind of situation, Kyrylo Budanov recalled cases in history when wars did not end legally.

First of all, it is about the conflict between Japan and the Russian Federation. As you know, these two countries have been de jure at war since 1945, because, no one has yet signed a peace treaty on the status of the Kuril Islands.

It is important to understand that this territorial problem is already 70 years old.

This scenario is very likely here as well, because Russia has significant territorial appetites for Ukraine, which concern not only Crimea. Of course, no one is going to satisfy these appetites, - explained the head of the GUR.

What will depend on the duration of intensive hostilities

According to Kyryll Budanov, it is necessary to pay attention to several important factors.

The head of the GUR emphasizes that we are talking about systemic changes in the Russian economy, the external supply of goods for military and technical purposes, and the psychological factor - the growth of war fatigue in society.

As the head of Ukrainian intelligence points out, we cannot ignore the fact that, as of today, the aggressor country manages to maintain economic stability.

Yes, we are observing a large-scale fuel crisis in Russia, a strong increasing of the prices on food products (in the last two months, prices have jumped twice by 15-20%) and other goods and services. All this shakes their economy and society, they will face real problems in 2025, Budanov added.
