Military assistance for three years

Canada will allocate 1.3 billion Canadian dollars (over $947 thousand) to Ukraine for military aid. These funds will be accrued until 2026.

This was reported in an economic report published on the Government of Canada website on November 21.

It is noted that the funds will be allocated to Ukraine within three years. Thus, from 2023 to 2024, Ukraine will receive 816,000 Canadian dollars from Canada.

Also, from 2024 to 2025, the Ukrainian army will receive aid in the amount of 318,000 Canadian dollars, and from 2025 to 2026, it will receive 197,000 Canadian dollars.

From 2026, the report marked military aid to Ukraine as zero.

Canada helps Ukraine

Even though Canada is located far from Ukraine, the American country, together with the USA, supported the Ukrainians in the war of aggression launched by Russia.

Canada provided military, financial, humanitarian, and political support and supported sanctions against Russia. Also, in May 2022, after the liberation of northern Ukraine, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau came to Kyiv.

The Canadian government is asking parliament for $385 million in military aid to Ukraine, including providing firearms, drone cameras, pilot training and tank maintenance.

In the budget document submitted by the Canadian government to the House of Commons, there is a request to allocate 500 million Canadian dollars (about 385 million US dollars) for military aid to Ukraine.

It is noted that these funds will be used to "provide equipment and services to Ukraine, which is defending its sovereignty, including firearms, cameras for drones, pilot training and tank maintenance."

In particular, the document includes about 38.5 million US dollars for the Canadian UNIFIER military training mission and more than 67 million US dollars for the Canadian-Ukrainian emergency travel permit migration program.
