According to the representative of China at the UN Security Council regarding Ukraine and the USA, "the security of one country should not be ensured at the expense of the security of other countries, and regional security cannot be guaranteed by strengthening or even expanding military groups."
China accuses the US of waging war
Permanent Representative of China to the UN Zhang Jun said that the United States of America should stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.
Newsweek reports it.
Such a statement at the UN Security Council was made against the background of reports that Kremlin representatives are interested in a diplomatic solution to the conflict. At the same time, Ukraine is counting on additional funding from the US.
According to China's permanent representative to the UN, the Minsk agreement reached in 2014 should be followed.
"Unfortunately, most of the provisions of the agreement have not yet been implemented, and large-scale hostilities broke out later," he said, adding that this issue deserves the attention of both sides of the conflict.
Zhang Jun added that one country's security should not be ensured at the expense of other countries' security, and regional security cannot be guaranteed by strengthening or even expanding military groups.
He also called on NATO to "stop the threats."
Relations between China and Russia
China began to maintain closer ties with the Russian Federation after the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In particular, Beijing refused to join the sanctions imposed by the US against the Kremlin.
Beijing and Moscow share a mutual interest in challenging US dominance in the world order as their relations with democracies grow increasingly strained.
The United States has repeatedly warned China against providing assistance to the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine or facilitating the evasion of sanctions. So, back in the summer, American intelligence stated that the PRC supplies Russia with technology and equipment.
Earlier in November 2023, the European Parliament called for more robust controls and more effective measures to limit Russia's ability to circumvent restrictive measures introduced by EU countries.
