As Reuters learned from its insiders, the Chinese ambassador to Ukraine warned the official Kyiv about the negative consequences for the countries' bilateral relations in the event that Chinese companies are included in the list of war sponsors.

Ukraine received the first threats from China. What's going on

As mentioned earlier, NACP included 14 Chinese companies in the "international sponsors of war" list.

It is worth noting that China has the most significant number of companies on this list among all countries worldwide.

This list includes such Chinese giants as:

  • Alibaba Group;

  • Xiaomi Corporation;

  • China National Offshore Petroleum Corporation;

  • China Railway Construction Corporation.

According to anonymous sources, official Beijing has not put forward any conditions or "temporary framework" for Ukraine but threatened Kyiv with "negative consequences".

It is not yet known what exactly it is about.

Another insider voiced the assumption that China may connect this issue with Chinese purchases of Ukrainian grain.

Journalists draw attention to the fact that China last year became the second importer of Ukrainian agricultural products among all countries in the world, with the total amount of purchases being 2.22 billion dollars.

According to government data, about 30% of Ukraine's maritime exports, including food, metals and ore, have been sent to China through the new Black Sea shipping corridor established by Kyiv last August.

China continues to create new problems for Ukraine

The New York Times discovered that a few months ago, restrictions on the supply of drones and their components from outside the country came into effect in China.

What is essential to understand is that this can significantly affect the forces and resources of Ukraine, which is trying to stop Russian aggression.

According to journalists, the budget Chinese drones DJI, EHang and Autel are the most used.

After that, Ukraine is forced to look for new sources of supplies.
