China reports of envoy's visit to Kyiv, calling it "frank and friendly"

According to the Chinese MFA, on March 7 in Kyiv, the special envoy of the People's Republic of China, Li Hui, held "frank and friendly" negotiations with the Ukrainian authorities.

Special Representative Li Hui held frank and friendly talks about Sino-Ukrainian relations and the Ukrainian crisis with the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, the Chinese's Foreign Ministry statement said.

In addition, it is emphasised that during the meeting the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine Fan Xianzhong, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the People's Republic of China Pavlo Ryabikin, Deputy Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk and other officials were present."

According to the press service of the Chinese diplomatic agency, on the evening of March 7, Li Hui completed his visit to Ukraine and left Kyiv by train.

How the Office of Ukraine's President comments on the talks with China's envoy

On the evening of March 7, the Office of the President officially announced that a briefing was held under Andriy Yermak's chairmanship regarding the Ukraine security situation and other pressing issues for the delegation of the People's Republic of China led by special representative Li Hui.

Delegations from China spoke about:

  1. the situation at the front and the progress of battles,

  2. functioning of the "grain corridor",

  3. return of POWs,

  4. protection of the rights of civilian hostages,

  5. return of Ukrainian children deported by Russia.

Moreover, it is reported that the Chinese delegation was shown samples of fragments of a downed missile produced by North Korea.

The question was also raised about the possibility of Chinese assistance in stopping the forced deportation of Ukrainian children, exchange of prisoners, demilitarization and de-occupation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, guaranteeing nuclear safety and other international initiatives of our state.
