The SSU detained a collaborator in Mykolaiv

As noted, the Russian spy tried to identify possible deployment locations of anti-aircraft missile systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the region.

To fulfill this task, the enemy agent received a 10,000 UAH in advance on his own bank card from his Russian coordinators.

The aggressor needed intelligence to prepare new and adjust repeated attacks on the region using missile weapons and Shahed-type kamikaze drones.

After completing all the enemy's tasks, the occupiers promised to "evacuate" their accomplice to the left-bank part of the Kherson region, where his parents lived.

However, SSU officers prevented the implementation of these "plans" they established the location of the Russian agent and detained him while he was trying to pass intelligence to the occupiers, the SSU said.

What is known about the arrested traitor

According to the investigation, the detainee is a local resident who was remotely recruited by Russian military intelligence through his relatives. They live in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region and have been cooperating with the Russian special service for a long time.

On the instructions of the occupiers, the relatives gave the defendant the contact of a Russian game "curator" and "conditional phrases" that the traitor used to establish an agent's connection with the occupier.

During the search, the detainee's mobile phone, which he used to communicate with the aggressor, was seized.

The SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

He is in custody. The offender faces life imprisonment.
