Ukraine needs strong support from its partners just as it did in the first days of a full-scale invasion.

This was said by Polish President Andrzej Duda in his statement on the second anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Poland supported Ukraine's struggle from the very beginning. With real pride, I remember the attitude of millions of Poles who, from the first hours of the war, opened their hearts and homes to our neighbors who were fleeing the tragedy of war. (...) Poland provided its own weapons, which helped the Ukrainian army to stop the onslaught of the Russians. More than 300 tanks, howitzers, armored personnel carriers and, finally, our planes. When it was most needed, when not everyone wanted to give such support.

The Polish leader emphasized that the Poles "supported, support and will support" Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor.

Today, this support is still very much needed. Despite the fatigue from the war. The free world cannot allow Putin and Russia to triumph. If this happens, sooner or later we will face another war.

Duda also reproached the West for not wanting to take Ukraine and Georgia into NATO in 2008, so as not to "annoy Russia." He emphasized that the current war would not have happened if Ukraine had already been a member of the defense alliance.

For some NATO members, this must be a great remorse.

The second anniversary of the full-scale war in Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recorded a video message from Gostomel, standing against the background of Ukrainian planes destroyed by Russian forces.

In his address to the nation, the president emphasized that it was with the capture of Gostomel that the Kremlin hoped to implement its plan to "take Kyiv and Ukraine in three days."

A number of world leaders also made statements on the second anniversary of the war. In particular, the leaders of Germany, Canada, Spain and other countries spoke.
