Oleksiy Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, stated that four conditions must be met for the launch of civil aviation.
Restoration of air connections between Ukraine and the world
On the air of the national telethon, Danilov noted that four key components must be resolved in order to restore air traffic:
protection of airports where it was decided to resume the use of aircraft;
certified infrastructure must be ready;
flight insurance mechanism;
willingness of airlines to fly to Ukraine.
I think that next year we will definitely move this issue from a standstill, Danilov said.
Zelenskyy commented on the resumption of air traffic
During a press conference on 19 December, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine was working on the possibility of resuming flights to Boryspil airport.
Boryspil is like the Black Sea. Its opening is a victory for Ukrainian air defence. It will show that Ukraine is winning. This is a very serious and powerful economic step. We are asking this question to our colleagues and we know exactly what we need.
We would like to remind you that a Boeing 777-300 aircraft took off from Boryspil on the same day. It was a technical transfer for storage in another country at the request of the Ukrainian airline Skyline Express.
This is the fourth departure of the aircraft from the airport since 24 February 2022.
