The Russian Federation is rearming faster than expected and may attack a NATO country within three to five years.

A Russian attack on NATO is possible in three years

The Russian defence industry is recovering rapidly despite the sanctions. Therefore, an attack on one of the NATO countries is highly probable.

Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen told Reuters about this.

Russia's potential in the production of military equipment has grown tremendously.

The minister stressed that Denmark should speed up its military investments.

It cannot be ruled out that within three to five years, Russia will test the strength of Article 5 and NATO's solidarity. It was not a NATO assessment in 2023; it is new knowledge now coming to the fore.

Poulsen noted that Denmark has no direct threat, but the Alliance may face hybrid attacks to destabilise member states.

Russia is potentially willing to do so. Now they may also be able to gain military capability sooner than we expected. There is reason for real concern.

The change in threat assessment comes after other European NATO nations issued similar warnings in recent weeks.

NATO considers an attack by Russia as a likely scenario

German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said in January that the Alliance should prepare for a Russian attack on a NATO country within 5-8 years.

Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces Mikael Büden and Minister of Civil Defense Carl-Oscar Bolin said all country citizens should be ready for war.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Norway urged not to miss the "window of opportunity" for preparing for a potential confrontation with Russia because this time may end in a few years.

The Telegraph published a new scenario, which could be an attack by Russia on NATO countries. Several phases will precede it.

Journalists of the publication believe that preparations for a confrontation with NATO may begin in the spring of 2024. It is predicted that Russia will momobilise00,000 troops and launch a new offensive in Ukraine against the background of problems with the support of Kyiv from Western partners.
