Death toll after Russian strike on Sumy and Kryvyi Rih rises

Russia attacked a five-story building in Sumy with a Shahed kamikaze drone on Mar. 13. The body of another person was recovered from the rubble. The number of victims also increased in Kryvyi Rih.

The rescuers managed to unblock the body of the dead person from under the rubble.

Earlier, the State Emergency Service rescued ten people from the rubble, eight of whom received injuries of varying degrees of severity. Unblocking is ongoing, as people may still be under the rubble.

The Russians also attacked Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Initially, it was known about three victims, then one of the victims died in the hospital, and the body of a man was discovered under the rubble of the house.

So far, five people have died as a result of the Russian attack.

A total of 43 people were injured in Kryvyi Rih, including 12 children. Four adults and two children are in hospital in serious condition.

In total, over two dozen high-rise buildings, two kindergartens and two schools, an enterprise, an administrative building, a store, and a warehouse were damaged in the city.

Russian attacks on the Sumy region

Since the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the occupiers have regularly struck Sumy and the region. Thus, during the air alert on the night of Mar. 13, explosions were heard in the city.

On Mar. 12, the enemy shelled the territory of the Sumy region. As a result of the guided aerial bomb attack, there is destruction and victims, including children.

The Russians also fought with Sumy on Mar. 7. According to the latest data, there are two dead and 26 injured. As a result of the attack, the Russian occupiers damaged the building of the hospital, the regional centre of emergency medical care, and the water supply. One hundred thirty-five windows and ten doors were also knocked out.
