North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has demanded that his army, munitions and nuclear weapons manufacturers speed up preparations for war with the United States. He is causing the alarm because of "unprecedented confrontational steps by Washington".
North Korea is intensively preparing for war with the United States
North Korean state media reports that the dictator has set combat tasks for the Korean People's Army and the munitions, nuclear weapons and civil defence industries to further accelerate preparations for war.
In addition, it is reported that, reflecting on the direction of the DPRK's policy in 2024, during a key meeting of the ruling party, Kim Jong Un also officially confirmed that his country intends to strengthen strategic cooperation with "anti-imperialist independent" states.
It is possible that he was talking about Russia, the aggressor country.
During the meeting, Kim also outlined economic goals for the new year, calling it a "crucial year" for the implementation of the country's five-year development plan, journalists wrote.
It is important to understand that the DPRK has recently held multi-day meetings of party and government officials, where key political statements were made.
North Korea already has weapons capable of striking the US
As mentioned earlier, on 18 December, North Korea successfully launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) with a range capable of reaching anywhere in the United States.
The Japanese authorities have officially confirmed that this missile can fly over 15,000 km, which means it can reach any point not only in Japan but also in the United States.
The flight lasted 73 minutes. The rocket reached a maximum altitude of over 6,000 km and crashed into the sea west of Hokkaido, outside Japan's economic zone.
