DIU: A disrupted by Russia prisoner exchange supposed to be one of the biggest

Il-76

According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) speaker, Andriy Yusov, the January 24 exchange of prisoners of war, disrupted by the Russian Il-76 plane crash in the Belgorod area, was supposed to be one of the largest since the beginning of the war.

What is known about the disrupted prisoner exchange due to the IL-76 plane crash near Belgorod

We will not provide an exact figure. And before the exchange, until it happens, such things are not practiced. But it would have to be one of the biggest exchanges in the history of full-scale warfare. And in general, we can say that it was supposed to be a jubilee — the 50th, but, unfortunately, it did not take place, — emphasised the DIU representative.

Yusov also noted that Ukraine is studying information about lists of Ukrainian prisoners allegedly made public by Russian propagandists.

That is, the lists that appear through the sources of Russian propaganda, they appear in order to protest and cause a reaction. We will not comment on them, — says the DIU representative.

According to him, if the representatives of the aggressor country want to publicize the lists of prisoners, they can do so through the mediation of relevant departments and organizations dealing with these issues.

What does the Kremlin want in the situation with the IL-76 plane crash

Of course, there will be official comments then. Currently, this is a deliberate informational and psychological work of the enemy. As for the specific reasons for the downing of this plane, of course, the demand for the creation of an open international commission is logical and well-founded, Yusov emphasises.

Yusov added that it is possible to find out exactly what caused the plane crash by studying the remains of the plane, "black boxes" and carefully examining the wreckage site.

Currently, as we hear, Russia rejects the possibility of the work of such a commission — emphasised the DIU representative.
