DIU points to the mysterious circumstances of the Il-76 plane crash: details

Il-76 plane crash

According to Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) speaker Andriy Yusov, Russia did not give the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross information about the Ukrainian prisoners who were to be exchanged on January 24.

What is known about the mysterious circumstances of the Il-76 plane crash

Such information must be public and transmitted, in particular by the aggressor state to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which must verify the state of health, conditions of detention, treatment of prisoners of war. As far as is known, at this stage such information was not transferred to the International Committee of the Red Cross, — emphasised the DIU speaker.

According to him, two Russian top officials were also supposed to be on board the Il-76, but at the last moment, they were ordered to leave the plane.

This is not the only mysterious circumstance of that day and these events. And all together it forms a certain structure that can testify to the deliberate actions of the aggressor state in relation to this incident, Yusov warns.

What hinders the investigation of the plane crash circumstances

He emphasised that the Ukrainian side currently has no confirmed information or access to verify the facts that there were any people on board the IL-76 and what happened to them afterwards.

So far, in fact, we are faced with the elements of concealment. There is nothing new about the facts presented by Russia. And maybe there really is something to hide, in particular in the context of the fact that different means of defeat have different features. During this investigation, they can be established. That is, what was the plane affected by. Was it the S-300, or Pantsir-1, or a portable anti-aircraft missile system, or other elements, Yusov concludes.

In addition, when asked about the five bodies of the dead in the morgue and whether this means that only the crew was on board the plane, the DIU speaker noted that Russia is blocking complete information.

And if we are talking about the humanitarian aspect of the issue, then "this in itself is a violation of both international law and, in general, some kind of ethics, as far as it can be attributed to the aggressor state."

Yes, there is information about five bodies that entered the Belgorod morgue. We cannot reject the version that the aggressor could have hidden the other bodies in some other place. But then, again, the question is for what? And for what purpose is this done? — asks the DIU speaker.
