The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) reports that Russia has decided to strengthen the border with Ukraine with border guards from the FSB. An intercepted telephone conversation with the occupiers evidences this.
Russia strengthens the border with FSB help
According to the DIU, detachments are being formed in Russia from among the personnel of the border service units of the FSB to strengthen the border fortification.
Such units will be placed in border areas in the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions.
On the recording, Captain Yusibov, a personnel officer of the Sukhum border detachment, talks to Ensign Zimskov, who is serving at the border post of Ochamchire.
They talk about forming lists to be sent to the Russian-Ukrainian border "permanently".
Russian troops on the northern border
On January 19, Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev stated that a group of more than 20,000 occupiers was being held on the northern border with Russia and Belarus.
According to him, on the territory of Russia, the occupiers have created and maintained groups with a total number of about 20,000 people. On the side of Belarus, about 1,800 people from the armed forces are kept.
Despite this, according to Naiev, the situation in the Northern Operational Zone remains under control.
