The "Dnipro" underground station has resumed regular operation in Kyiv since March 8. It had been closed for over two years.
Opening of the Dnipro station in Kyiv
Kyiv City State Administration (CSA) reports that the station's operating hours are from 5:41 a.m. to 10:36 p.m.
The KSCA statement says the Dnipro underground station is above ground so that it will be closed for passenger transportation during an air alert for safety reasons.
The Dnipro station on the red branch of the metro line between the Arsenalna and Hydropark stations has not operated for passenger transportation since the beginning of the full-scale invasion — from Feb. 24, 2022.
Which metro stations in Kyiv are closed
On Dec.8, KCSA announced the suspension of train traffic on the section between the "Lybidska" and "Demiivska" stations of the Obolonsko-Teremkivska underground line.
The reason was the depressurisation of the tunnel and the appearance of cracks in its walls, which led to the flooding of the tunnel on the subway section.
Repair of the stations will last six months. Currently, trains on the blue branch will run only between Heroiv Dnipra and Lybidska stations, the terminus. There are also ground transport routes.
The prosecutor's office has already started an investigation into official negligence regarding the depressurization of the tunnel at the "Demiivska" metro station in Kyiv.
On Feb. 7, 2024, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaly Klitschko, announced that traffic between Demiivska and Lybidska stations would be restored by the end of summer this year.
Before that, the general director of the holding, which is engaged in repairing the tunnel between "Demiivska" and "Lybidska", stated that the repair should be completed by the fall of this year.
