Estonian President talks on motivations of ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia

Zelenskyy and Karis

The President of Estonia, Alar Karis, assures that Western leaders have started raising the topic of a ceasefire in Russia's war against Ukraine in order to learn about the mood on the international stage.

Ukrainians don't need to worry about armistice negotiations with Russia

The Estonian leader made such a statement during a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the latter's visit to Tallinn.

Not during official meetings but in the corridors, in order to find out the mindset. But our answer has been the same as President Zelenskyy has said: that peace arrives and you sit behind the table when Ukraine has won the war, Alar Karis emphasised.

The Estonian president is convinced that the pressure for negotiations will not succeed if there is unity among allies in Europe and beyond.

According to him, the fact that countries are promoting pro-Russian narratives in the international arena cannot be ignored.

Some countries cannot be allowed to destroy this unity, Karis stressed.

Zelenskyy spoke about the Russian army's problems in a war against Ukraine

According to the head of state, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia is faced with a large-scale shortage of weapons, so Ukraine cannot pause in the war, as this will allow the enemy to restore its forces and resources.

This pause will only help the Russian Federation. Why? Because we understand volumes how much they produce today. We know how many drones and artillery they produce per day. And we see what they lack, and that they have a big deficit with drones and with artillery. A big deficit with missiles too.

The Ukrainian leader draws attention to the fact that "the world also does not have time to fill Ukraine's warehouses."
