The head of EU foreign diplomacy, Josep Borrell, promised that by the end of the current year, Ukraine will receive 1 million 155 thousand artillery rounds from European partners.

The EU plans to supply Ukraine with over 1M rounds by year's end

Borrell noted that the EU countries' defence capabilities have increased by 40%.

The head of EU foreign diplomacy promised that Ukraine would receive 1 million 155 thousand artillery ammunition by the end of this year.

I can also give a fairly specific figure regarding ammunition: by the end of this year, we are counting on 1 million 155 thousand, — said Borrell

At the same time, he emphasised that Ukraine should continue implementing reforms within the framework of the planned membership in the EU.

At the same time, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, emphasised that Ukraine's European partners have finally "awakened" and are currently increasing the defence industry's capabilities.

Borrell also added that after arriving in Kyiv on the morning of January 7, he was forced to go down into a bomb shelter due to an attack by the criminal army of the Russian Federation.

I would like to honor all those civilians who died or were injured as a result of the attack that was carried out by Russia that night. The team and I were supposed to go down to the bomb shelter this morning. I understand that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainians had to go down to the bomb shelter like this more than 40 thousand times, — said the head of the EU's foreign diplomacy.

How can Ukraine match Russia in ammo amount?

According to Ukraine's MFA chief, Dmytro Kuleba, EU countries should help Ukraine equalise with the aggressor country of the Russian Federation in terms of the number of artillery rounds.

Can we equalise the artillery balance with Russia? We definitely can, if these comprehensive efforts are made. I want every Ukrainian soldier to know — I think I have the right to speak both for myself and for Josep — that every day in Brussels, Kyiv and other capitals there is one job: how to deliver more shells to Ukraine, to the Ukrainian soldier, — emphasised Kuleba.

He added that there is a constant shortage of ammunition, but despite Russia's superiority in artillery shells, it is not winning any victories at the front.
