Ukraine will receive 50 billion euros from the European Union

The Ukrainian MFA also welcomes the achievement of a principled decision at the summit on the creation of the Ukraine Facility in the amount of €50 billion for 2024-2027. This is a clear signal that the financial support of Ukraine from the European Union will continue.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects the necessary legal procedures to be completed in January 2024, allowing the appropriate funding to be received as soon as possible.

The money will be used to support macroeconomic stability, recovery and modernization of Ukraine, and acceleration of integration into the EU.

The ministry called on the EU to approve the new eighth tranche of aid within the framework of the European Peace Fund as soon as possible.

Orban blocked the €50 billion EU allocation to Ukraine

During the EU summit on December 15, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán vetoed the EU aid package for Ukraine for €50 billion.

The conclusion of the evening shift: a veto on additional money for Ukraine... We will return to this issue next year in the Eurocouncil after proper preparation, he wrote on X (Twitter).
