Kissinger died at his home in Connecticut, according to Kissinger Associates.
Henry Kissinger, the controversial Nobel Peace Prize winner and diplomatic authority whose service under two presidents left a mark on US foreign policy, died on Wednesday at the age of 100, his geopolitical consultancy Kissinger Associates Inc. said.
Since his centenary, Kissinger has been active, attending White House meetings, publishing a book on leadership styles, and testifying before a Senate committee on the nuclear threat from North Korea.
In July 2023, he surprisedly visited Beijing to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
What is known about Henry Kissinger
In 2008, Kissinger spoke against Ukraine's admission to NATO and for Ukraine to remain in the sphere "which the Russians consider the space of their self-awareness." In 2015, he criticized sanctions against Russia and justified the occupation of Crimea.
In May 2022, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Kissinger said that Ukraine should cede part of its territory to Russia to end the war. Then Zelenskyy replied to the former Secretary of State: "It seems that Mr Kissinger does not have the year 2022 on his calendar, but 1938, and he thought that he was speaking to the audience not in Davos, but in Munich at that time."
In July 2022, Kissinger already called during possible future negotiations with Moscow not to give up the territories of Ukraine captured during the Russian invasion, and in January 2023, he supported Ukraine's accession to NATO.
In September, during a visit to the USA, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Kissinger, who previously opposed Ukraine's membership in NATO but now supports our country's membership in the Alliance.
