According to the city mayor, Igor Terekhov, the contractor has already assembled concrete structures and started thermal and waterproofing of the object. Sewage, water supply and ventilation systems are also being installed.

The mayor noted that the construction of the school is on schedule despite the enemy bombardment of the city, frost and bad weather.

The contractors promise to keep the set pace so that from March we will be able to teach our children here and start building the next such school in one of the central districts of the city, Terekhov said.

Children's education in the Kharkiv underground and construction of underground schools: details

From September 1, 2023, more than 60 classrooms were set up for Kharkiv schoolchildren at several metro stations so that children could study safely because the city suffers from constant rocket attacks.

In parallel with this, work on the construction of bomb shelters in educational institutions and an underground school continues in Kharkiv. Last year in October, Terekhov stated that its construction cost would be about 58 million hryvnias.

An underground school is also being built near Kharkiv, in the village of Korotychi. It can withstand a direct hit from an S-300 missile.
