According to the General Staff, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnieper. They also repelled Russian attacks near Krasnohorivka and destroyed the enemy's ammunition depot.
AFU General Staff reports about the situations at the front on January 16
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, our defenders repulsed an enemy attack west of Vervove of the Zaporizhzhia region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to restore the lost position.
The enemy also does not give up its intention to knock out the Ukrainian units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, during the day, the enemy unsuccessfully stormed the positions of our troops six times.
In the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, and conducts shelling of populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, the General Staff reports.
In the Lyman direction, our defenders repelled nine attacks by the occupiers in Terny, Yampolivka, and Torsky regions of Donetsk region, and another 15 attacks near Makiivka, Bilogorivka, Luhansk region, and north of Hryhorivka and Vesele of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 15 enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, and another 15 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske of the Donetsk region.

AFU's successes on the battlefield
During the day, the Air Force aviation struck one area where the enemy's personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. Also, Ukraine's air defence downed one Kh-59 missile.
