In Kherson's direction, the enemy does not give up its intention to knock out Ukrainian units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. During the day, six unsuccessful attempts were made to storm the positions of our troops.
What is happening in different parts of the front
The AFU General Staff provided operational information regarding the Russian invasion of 18.00 on 02/02/2024.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
Fifty-five combat clashes occurred during the day.
The enemy also carried out 50 airstrikes and fired 19 times by MLRS at the positions of our troops and populated areas.
On Volyn and Polisia's directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.
In the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, the enemy carried out an airstrike in the Vilkhuvatka area of the Kharkiv region. More than 30 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Kupiansk direction, our defenders repelled four attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka of the Kharkiv region, where the enemy tried to break through the defence of our troops. The occupiers also carried out airstrikes in the areas of Ivanivka, Kyslivka, and Tabaiivka settlements of the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, our defenders repelled three attacks in the Terny region of the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the defences of our troops. The invaders shelled about 15 settlements with artillery and mortars.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces repulsed two attacks near Bohdanivka and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical position. More than ten settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 19 attacks near Avdiivka and another ten attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the defences of our troops.
In the Mariinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the districts of Georhiivka and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region. Here, the occupiers unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical position six times.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, our soldiers repelled the enemy's attack south of the Golden Nyva of the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled three attacks near Robotyne and to the west of Vervove in the Zaporizhia region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the defences of our troops.
Kherson, Beryslav, Ingulets of the Kherson region and Ochakiv of the Mykolaiv region came under artillery and mortar fire. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the Kherson and Respublikanets settlements of the Kherson region.
New AFU's successes in the war against Russia
