During the day, 42 combat clashes took place between the Defense Forces and the Russian occupiers. Russia also launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine, using 44 aerial targets.
The results of the aviation and missile forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck ten areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration, two anti-aircraft missile complexes and one enemy control point.
Units of missile forces struck one area of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration, two anti-aircraft warfare systems, nine artillery systems and 1 EW station of the enemy.
AFU General Staff also specifies that on the morning of January 23, the Russian military used 44 means of air attack against Ukraine:
4 S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles,
15 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles,
8 Kh-22 missiles,
12 "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles,
5 Kh-59/Kh-31 guided air missiles.
As a result of combat work by the forces and means of air defence, the following were destroyed:
15 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles,
5 "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles,
2 Kh-59 guided air missiles.
The situation in the south and east
In the direction of Kupiansk, a Russian attack was repulsed near Synkivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled four attacks in the Yampolivka and Torske districts of the Donetsk region and two more attacks near Bilohorivka and Serebryansk forestry of the Luhansk region.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces repelled two attacks near Bohdanivka and Klishchiivka, Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, the Armed Forces repelled four attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka and another eight attacks in the Pervomaiske and Nevelske of the Donetsk region.
In the Mariinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy near Georgiyivka and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region. Here, the occupiers, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical position nine times.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, our defenders repulsed four attacks south of Chervone, west of Vervove and Robotyne of the Zaporizhzhia region.
In Kherson's direction, the enemy carried out seven unsuccessful assaults on the positions of Ukrainian troops on the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River.
