According to the German Defence Ministry chief, Boris Pistorius, there are currently no signs of a threat of war between Russia and NATO countries.

Pistorius does not see Russia preparing to attack NATO countries

The head of the German Defense Ministry noted that Russia's military-political leadership is completely focused on armed aggression against Ukraine.

Currently, I do not see any danger of a Russian attack on the territory of NATO or a NATO partner. But this is just a freeze frame. "No one knows whether he will survive," Pistorius emphasised.

He added that the criminal army of the Russian Federation is completely focused on the war against Ukraine and has several problems, despite desperate attempts to replenish the losses of personnel and military equipment.

However, at the same time, Pistorius came out to support the importance of the "principle of deterrence", which successfully proved itself even during the "Cold War".

And it was much more predictable than the situation we have today, — admits the head of the German Defense Ministry.

Pistorius on US election concerns

According to the head of the German Defense Ministry, European countries should not be afraid of Donald Trump's return to the US president's seat after the election results. Still, they should increase investments in their own defence.

Commenting on a possible Trump presidency, Pistorius said Europe should do what it "should have done years ago: invest more in our own security."

If we now look at this American election as a rabbit looks at a boa constrictor, it will not help us at all. We have to do our homework, Pistorius emphasised.
