Berlin should provide Ukraine with Taurus cruise missiles because they can destroy the Crimean bridge on the Russian-occupied peninsula. The leader of the opposition Christian Democratic Union (CDU) of Germany, Friedrich Merz, made such a call.
Germany may contribute to the Crimean Bridge destruction
German politician believes the long-range missiles could indeed irreversibly destroy the Kerch Bridge in Crimea.
Friedrich Merz reminded the team of Chancellor Olaf Scholz that the Crimean Bridge remains "the most important supply route for Russian forces" for the war against Ukraine.
Friedrich Merz notes that all German people want to hear from the leader of their country why the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not yet received the Taurus.

This was not the first time when the leader of the German opposition called on Olaf Scholz to transfer long-range missiles to Ukraine, but all the statements were ignored.
The SSU hinted at planning a new attack on the Crimean bridge
On the night of December 31, 2023, the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) updated the cover of its Facebook page. It depicts the burning Crimean bridge.

In such an original way, the SSU team hinted not only to Ukrainians but also to Russians and directly to the dictator Vladimir Putin that the Crimean Bridge would again remember what "bavovna"[explosion] to come.
Previously, the Ukrainian Special Service had already realised a successful attack on the Crimean Bridge. It allowed partially to destroy it and disrupt the logistics of the Russian army.
