German MP says Ukraine can't succeed in the war with Russia shortly, only in a long-term perspective

The German Bundestag MP Anton Hofreiter stated that Ukraine will not be able to win a war with Russia shortly, but it has a long-term prospect of achieving this.

Will Ukraine succeed in the war with the Russian Federation shortly?

The Ukrainian army can win the war with Russia in 2025. However, this is only possible with appropriate support from European arms manufacturers.

The head of the committee on European affairs in the Bundestag, Anton Hofreiter, expressed this opinion.

He assesses the situation in the war between the countries as critical.

It is very important that the Ukrainian army manages to hold the front line this year, said Hofreiter.

Hofreiter believes that offensive actions on the part of Ukraine are now unlikely.

I do not see Ukraine being able to start an offensive this year. There are not enough resources for this, including ammunition and support from the United States, the politician said.

He noted that if the "production of ammunition and other equipment in Europe increases," then in 2025, Ukraine will be able to "take the upper hand in the defensive war against Russia." Hofreiter added that, provided that Russia does not carry out further territorial seizures, this remains "the best that Ukraine can do in the coming months."

A new AFU offensive may begin as early as 2025

According to American journalists, they decided to talk with the DIU chief, Let. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov.

In addition, they draw attention to the fact that, according to a recent study by the London-based Royal United Services Institute, the occupation army of the Russian Federation will reach the peak of its offensive capabilities by the end of this year.

After that, Russia will face a severe shortage of armoured vehicles.

As the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine explains, the critical question is whether Kyiv's international partners are ready to provide Ukraine with ammunition for the whole year while the Armed Forces of Ukraine prepare for their operation.
