The German arm concern Rheinmetall received an order from the government of the Federal Republic of Germany for the supply of 25 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine in 2024.

What is known about Leopard 1A5 delivery

According to the concern, the Ukrainian government concluded a contract with Rheinmetall for the supply of Leopard 1A5 tanks.

The agreement covers 25 Leopard 1A5 main battle tanks, five armored repair and evacuation vehicles (Bergepanzer 2) and two training tanks.

The German-financed order, which is worth double-digit millions of euros, also covers training, logistics, spare parts, maintenance and other support services.

Delivery should take place in 2024. Leopard 1 systems are currently being overhauled and are being prepared for use at Rheinmetall's Unterluss and Kassel plants.

Thus, Rheinmetall continues to support Ukraine with constant supplies of tactical vehicles. Earlier, the group was tasked with supplying Ukraine with 80 Marder infantry fighting vehicles. Most of them are already in the country, where they have proven their stability in current operations.

German Rheinmetall will produce 100,000 rounds of ammunition for Ukraine

The contract provides for the supply of about 100,000 120 mm artillery mines. The deal is part of a €400 million military aid package for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Deliveries are due to start shortly and will continue over the next two years.

Accordingly, the average amount of deliveries may be slightly more than 4,000 rounds per month.

The concern said that with the recent acquisition of Spanish ammunition manufacturer Expal, Rheinmetall has further strengthened its already extensive experience in infantry fire support.

The Group's product range includes a full range of 120mm, 81mm and 60mm mortar ammunition, complemented by fire control systems and mortar systems such as the 120mm Ragnarök mortar and the innovative 60mm RSG60 mortar system," Rheinmetal reported.
