According to the German Ministry of Justice chief, Marko Buschmann, Berlin will not force Ukrainians in the country to mobilize into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Germany does not plan to help the Ministry of Defense mobilize Ukrainians

The German minister claims that the authorities of his country are not going to force Ukrainian citizens who are currently in Germany to fight.

It is difficult for me to imagine how we can force people from other countries to serve with weapons in their hands, given that, according to our Constitution, German citizens are not obliged to do this against their will, Marko Buschmann emphasizes.

The politician also assured that if official Kyiv still wants to draft men who left the country into the army, it will not have practical consequences for Ukrainians living in Germany.

To force people to perform military duty or to undergo military service against their will is not our case, the head of the German Ministry of Justice concluded.

Where did the rumours about the mobilization of Ukrainians abroad come from

As already mentioned earlier, on December 21, the German publication Welt, referring to the interview of the Minister of Defense Rustem Umierov with the WELT TV channel, the newspapers "Bild" and "Politico" wrote that Ukrainian men aged 25-60, who living in Germany and other countries, next year they must appear at the conscription points of the Armed Forces. Otherwise, sanctions will be applied to them.

However, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine immediately denied this information.

They said that Rustem Umierov only calls on all Ukrainians to join the Armed Forces. Still, the issue of the mechanism of punishment or legal pressure on men outside of Ukraine is not even discussed yet.

However, one more time about the important thing: a summon is just a notification to a citizen that the state needs him for protection. From this point of view, it is strange to expect a personal invitation at the end of the second year of a full-scale invasion. Have you heard about the war in Ukraine? Consider yourself invited. Go already. Go, how did all those who stood in lines for the military service from the February of 2022, the head of the MOD Press and Information department Hilarion Pavlyuk said.
