Officials in Berlin and Paris have vowed not to allow Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to divide allies amid a scandal involving a leaked conversation between Bundeswehr officers about the destruction of the Crimean Bridge.

Britain and Germany will not allow a split between Ukraine's allies

I do not want to play into the hands of the Russian narrative about differences between the allies, — stressed the head of British diplomacy, David Cameron, during a press conference with his German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock.

According to him, there is "incredible unity between the allies" today, particularly in NATO.

The German MFA chief publicly promised that Ukraine's allies will not allow the head of the Kremlin to intimidate them and sow discord.

If we have different views, we will discuss them behind closed doors. We won't let Putin divide us, no matter what other means and methods he uses.

What is being said in Germany about the collapse of the secret talks on the Crimean bridge

On Mar. 1, the Russian mass media published a recording of a conversation between the German military. During this conversation, the German army discussed the possibility of Taurus missile strikes on the Crimean bridge with the help of a Dassault Rafale fighter.

Official Berlin immediately launched an investigation to find out whether the German generals had indeed secretly discussed the future destruction of the Kerch Bridge.

Later, it became known that such a conversation had taken place.

German chancellor Olaf Scholz immediately made a statement on this matter, calling it a "big problem".

German MOD chief Boris Pistorius commented on the scandal, noting that it was a hybrid attack aimed at disinformation.
