The situation in winter can now become very difficult. The Ukrainian side did everything possible to prepare for this situation, and we helped with the preparations, the German ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jaeger said.
The ambassador recalled Germany's support for Ukraine's air defense. "I have already spoken about our support for air defense. In addition to the mentioned IRIS-T systems, another Patriot system from Germany will be deployed here in the winter," the diplomat said.
German aid
Germany is one of the leaders among the countries that assist our troops. In particular, Berlin provided several types of artillery, Leopard tanks of older and new modifications, IRIS-T and Patriot air defense systems, ammunition, cars, drones and other types of weapons.
Yesterday, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced a new aid package for Ukraine. It will include 4 IRIS-T systems, 20,000 155 mm caliber shells, anti-tank mines and other weapons.
It recently became known that Ukraine will receive Wisent 1 demining tanks and 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles from Berlin.
