Hackers hacked Kyivstar employee's account

During yesterday's large-scale cyber attack on Kyivstar mobile operator, hackers managed to breach the defences using the account of one of the company's employees.

This was stated by the president of Kyivstar, Oleksandr Komarov, on the air of the nationwide telethon Yedyni Novyny (United News).

The entrepreneur noted that this was the reason why the attackers managed to hack the operator's security system.

This happened because the account pool was compromised, the account of one of the employees was compromised, and the enemy was able to penetrate the company's infrastructure, he explained.

The company's management also clarifies that this is still being investigated by law enforcement agencies.

Currently, the company's specialists are working to restore data and SMS services and hope that they will also be restored within a day.
