In Paris, a very substantive conversation took place with Ukrainian partners at the opening of the Artillery Coalition. Representatives of the Ukrainian delegation voiced the need for the Armed Forces in a reasoned manner, and also talked about military-technical cooperation and long-term support of the Ukrainian army. Important statements were made by France regarding further military support to Ukraine.

France will give Ukraine 3,000 artillery pieces per month

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to receive 3,000 shells per month from France.

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, stated this.

Regarding 155-mm projectiles for French artillery systems, the deputy minister of defence said France could provide the Ukrainian army with 3,000 projectiles monthly.

Havrylyuk also reported that Paris has once again demonstrated the stability of its support for Ukraine.

France plans to manufacture 78 Caesars for Ukraine, six of which will be delivered in the near future, he added.

Artillery coalition: what is known

France and the United States lead this coalition. It is one of the components of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine in the Rammstein format, which unites more than 50 countries.

This coalition, which includes twenty-three countries, "aims to join forces to help — in the short and long term — Ukraine to have artillery adapted to the needs of a counteroffensive and its army of tomorrow," said a representative of the Ministry of Armed Forces of France

To arm the self-propelled guns, the European Union has set itself the goal of producing one million rounds of ammunition for Ukraine by the spring of 2024. But to date, according to MEPs, only 300,000 shells have been delivered.

On January 17, France announced it would produce 78 Caesar self-propelled guns for Ukraine.
