Humeniuk explained what saved Ukraine from new Russian drone attack

Natalia Humeniuk

The night of 9 January in Ukraine was quite calm - Russia did not attack peaceful cities in our country with missiles or drones. According to Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the Joint Press Centre of the Southern Operational Command, the weather saved Ukrainians this time.

Weather conditions prevented Russia from launching new attack on Ukraine

We understand that the absence of drone strikes is also a reaction to the weather conditions. Nevertheless, the enemy continues artillery shelling and at night reminded Kherson residents and Antonivka residents of its presence again, commented Natalia Humeniuk.

She also officially confirmed that, despite the shelling by the Russian occupiers, no civilians were injured.

The Russian army continues to carpet-bomb Ukrainian civilians or selectively shell residential areas and social infrastructure.

In addition, the aggressor country is doing everything possible to create maximum problems for utilities, in particular, in the provision of heat, gas, and electricity.

Russia also reduced activity of its aviation

According to Natalia Humeniuk, this is also a result of weather conditions and the combat work of our soldiers in the South.

In the operational area of the Joint Forces Command "South", despite the loss of aviation, the enemy occasionally returns to the use of aviation.

According to her, the enemy recently tried to repeat the bombing of the right bank with guided aerial bombs and unguided aerial missiles on the left bank.

Since the assault operations were not successful and they were losing people and equipment, they tried to put pressure from the air, explains Humeniuk.

Despite this, on January 8, the Russian army did not use its aviation.

Although the enemy used almost no equipment, our defenders managed to destroy 2 enemy tanks and 2 airborne assault vehicles.
