According to Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the Joint Press Centre of the Southern Ukrainian Defence Forces, the Russian occupiers on the left-bank of the Kherson region are facing more and more problems that they cannot cope with.

What is happening on the left-bank of the Kherson region

According to Natalia Humeniuk, new serious problems are brewing in the "Dnipro" group, which is commanded by Colonel-General Mykhailo Teplinskyi.

First of all, the occupier has begun to form assault units from officers who are not motivated, do not follow discipline and do not know how to manage subordinates.

Teplinsky is forced to do this against the background of difficulties with personnel.

This is one of those difficult decisions that Russians are used to making in the south of Ukraine, explains Natalia Humeniuk.

According to her, the Russian occupiers are currently forced to reformat their units, as they have faced several problems at once.

First of all, we are talking about:

  • extremely unstable moral and psychological state of personnel;

  • disorder in management;

  • large-scale losses in manpower and equipment.

Russian units in the southern sector are demotivated, as they would like to gain a foothold on the second reinforced concrete line of defence and wait out the difficult weather conditions. At the same time, the military and political leadership is demanding "victories" from them.

Now the Russian army is preparing for another event that requires "victories" - the upcoming presidential elections in Russia. They will be held on 17 March 2024.

What is known about the new successes of the Armed Forces as of December 16

Ukrainian defenders are holding their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region, and are destroying enemy forces every day.

Over the course of the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 21 areas where Russian army personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated.

In addition, it is emphasised that the missile troops hit 7 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, a control centre, 2 air defence systems, 12 artillery systems, 2 ammunition and fuel and lubricants depots of the enemy.
