Estonia allowed the border with Russia to be closed, although earlier this measure was called premature.
In Estonia, the border with Russia was allowed to be closed
We are ready to close the border if necessary, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna said.
He also added that Estonia will discuss such a measure if it is necessary to support Finland.
This closure of the border with the Russian Federation may happen. This situation is not an ordinary example of migration, Margus Tsakhna added.
On November 23, chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Estonia, Lauri Läenemets, stated that the closure of the eastern border to fight against migrants is not yet necessary.
Closure of the Finnish border with Russia
Finland began to block entry from the territory of Russia due to the influx of illegal migrants. Thus, the Finnish border service has banned the entry of people who ride bicycles through checkpoints on the border with the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Finnish border guards had to use tear gas when emigrants tried to illegally enter the camps from Russia.
On November 18, four checkpoints were closed on the border between Finland and Russia, and on November 22, the Finnish government decided to close almost all border crossings. Currently, only one checkpoint is operating — in Lapland.
Yesterday, the Finnish government decided to temporarily close all border crossings on the border with Russia.
