In a comment to the journalists of Le Journal du Dimanche, the French diplomat noted that President Emmanuel Macron recently invited the heads of 27 countries and governments to a meeting in Paris to demonstrate the determination of these countries to do more for Ukraine.
It would be a serious mistake to exclude the discussion of our options. The West would be guilty of succumbing to the spirit of capitulation. Our stability against Vladimir Putin is a guarantee of our security, - noted Jean-Noel Barro.
According to him, the defense of EU countries should stop relying on NATO.
At the same time, the French diplomat noted that with the beginning of the criminal war unleashed by Russia, the European defense industry reached a new level.
In particular, thanks to the European Peace Fund, which made it possible to finance the training of the Ukrainian military, the transfer of military equipment to Ukraine and makes it possible to carry out joint purchases and production operations, Barro noted.
He noted that countering the aggression of the Russian Federation is not only a struggle of Ukraine.
The struggle of Ukrainians is also our struggle. By resisting the invader, they are fighting for the security of Europe and France, because Vladimir Putin's imperialist fantasies are clearly not limited to Ukraine, the minister said.

Slovakian President Zuzana Chaputova noted that yesterday's meeting between the head of the country's Foreign Ministry, Yulia Blanar, and the head of diplomacy of the aggressor country, Russia, Serhiy Lavrov, did not contribute to bringing peace to Ukraine.
The Slovak-Russian meeting of foreign ministers did not bring us closer to a just peace in Ukraine, which the Russian Federation invaded illegally and unjustifiably. The fastest way to peace is through Vladimir Putin's order to his troops to withdraw from Ukraine, and not to give him hope for victory and acceptance, Chaputova stressed.
