A Tu-204 cargo plane caught fire during take-off from the Russian city of Ulan-Ude in Buryatia. It was supposed to fly to the Chinese city of Zhangzhou.
What is known about the Tu-204 aircraft
The Aerostar cargo plane was supposed to fly from Ulan-Ude to Zhangzhou. However, a few minutes after take-off, the Tu-204's left engine caught fire.
The pilots reported to the airport, after which they drained the fuel and began landing.
Aviation of Russia is on the verge of collapse
Aviation-related incidents are constantly occurring in Russia. In particular, sanctions have caused problems with Russian-made Superjet aircraft. Pilots complain about failures in navigation databases.
We would like to add that the ban on the supply of spare parts and aircraft repairs due to sanctions in Russia has even affected aircraft paint. Russian airlines have to wait 3-4 months for paint.
Airlines are faced with a choice: disassemble aircraft for spare parts or use non-original spare parts, risking safety. Lack of insurance and problems with spare parts make it difficult to operate aircraft.
The problem has become so acute that the Ministry of Transport of Russia has allowed foreign aircraft to be repaired in any way, even using non-original spare parts. Due to the lack of spare parts, at least 50 aircraft of Aeroflot, the largest carrier, cannot continue flying, which is 25% of the airline's fleet.
