Western analysts suggest that last night's massive missile attack on Ukraine by the criminal army of the Russian Federation marks the beginning of a winter campaign of attacks on energy facilities.

What is known about the signs of renewed mass missile attacks on Ukraine by the Russian army

Over the past few weeks, we have been highlighting the possibility that Russia could launch a coordinated winter campaign of attacks on Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure, and we assessed that Russia may have attempted to launch this activity last night, an unnamed Western official told the news source.

According to him, last night's attacks on Ukraine were carried out by criminals of the Russian army using Tu-95 bombers that have not been used for at least several months.

At the same time, the official noted that the Russian occupiers used high-precision missiles for the strikes.

Despite the tragic reports of at least one civilian death, the damage appears to be minimal, emphasised the interlocutor of the publication.

He added that the attack carried out by the Russian army was not coordinated in terms of prior reconnaissance and its combination with UAV attacks.

What is known about the details of the morning missile attack on Kyiv by Russia

According to Defense Express, during the morning missile attack of Russia's criminal army on Kyiv, some of the enemy missiles lacked real warheads.

The publication notes that although the Air Force Command had previously reported that the enemy used Kh-555 missiles, in fact at least some of them were versions of the Kh-55 with a massive warhead simulator.

The authors of the article note that the type of missiles can be judged by the photographs that were provided to the publication.

The debris indicates that the enemy missiles did not have auxiliary wings in the nose part of the hull, as on the Kh-555 version.

Analysts of the publication note that the basic version of the Kh-55 should carry a nuclear charge weighing 200 kg.

The Kh-555 version carries conventional explosives, so its warhead is heavier (400 kg) and therefore requires additional wings for balancing.

Therefore, the lack of wings on the missile indicates that it did not contain a heavy warhead with explosives and was not capable of performing the task of hitting ground objects.

The publication emphasises that the enemy is definitely not short of missiles, as it has not used them since September, but has only been stockpiling them.

The only probable version of why these missiles were fired from bombers is to use them as "bait" to "probe" the air defense system around Kyiv and prepare for new strikes, the authors of the material noted.
