According to Tages-Anzeiger, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy may visit Switzerland for at least two days next week.

Zelenskyy is going to visit Switzerland

As journalists managed to find out, the head of state is considering a visit to Bern on January 15 before his speech in Davos at the World Economic Forum (WEF), which takes place from January 15 to 19.

Tages-Anzeiger draws attention to the fact that work on planning the visit of the President of Ukraine has been ongoing since mid-December.

The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs has not yet confirmed or denied these data.

According to one of the publication's insiders, Volodymyr Zelenskyy's planned visit to Switzerland may not be confirmed until the last moment.

However, whether Zelenskyy will actually be able to travel to Switzerland next week is also likely to depend on the military situation in Ukraine.

Journalists also emphasise that the final decision on whether Zelenskyy will come to Bern and Davos has not been officially made.

Sources of the publication in the Ukrainian authorities confirm that discussions on this issue are ongoing.

Zelenskyy's team is also considering alternative options

Moreover, it is emphasised that an alternative option could be the speech of the President of Ukraine via video link since he had already communicated with WEF participants last year.

The planned program of Zelenskyy's visit to Bern is still unknown. The meeting may occur in the Lohn estate in Kehrsatz, five kilometers from the center of Bern, where the Federal Council traditionally receives guests from foreign countries, and which is easier for security forces to surround than the center of the capital.
