EU and USA cannot provide for all the needs of the Armed Forces
According to the Minister, currently the fighting on the front is so active and fierce that Ukraine's international partners lack the resources to provide our defenders with everything they need.
The needs of our front are greater than the production capacity of the United States and the European Union combined. Oleksandr Kamyshyn stressed.
The Minister of Strategic Industries also does not hide that Ukraine previously faced serious problems in the matter of creating its own air defense systems.
According to him, the development of air defense takes many more years than we have today.
But we found an opportunity to produce a hybrid air defense system with our partners.

By the way, on the night of January 17, 2024, Ukrainian soldiers used the air defense system of the FrankenSAM project for the first time in combat conditions.
Oleksandr Kamyshyn officially confirmed that such systems are already deployed at the front.
What is important to know about the FrankenSAM program
The FrankenSAM project is a hybrid air defense system jointly created by the Pentagon, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Strategic Industry.
According to the developers, it is about three anti-aircraft missile complexes: the Soviet Buk air defense system with American RIM-7 Sea Sparrow missiles, AIM-9M air-to-air missiles in combination with Soviet radars and air defense systems based on Ukrainian old systems with elements and missiles from Patriot.
The US Defense Ministry said that the tests of this system in October 2023 were successful.
It is also worth recalling that in December 2023, the United States and Ukraine signed a declaration on the joint production of weapons.
