According to Mykhailo Podolyak, the advisor to the head of the Office of the Presiden (OP) of Ukraine, Kremlin propaganda is manipulating the topic of alleged problems with the EU's assistance to Ukraine.

How the Kremlin uses false information to spread its own propaganda

In a comment to Report journalists,Podolyak noted that one of the main political messages of Kremlin propaganda is the claim that there are contradictions among EU countries on the issue of providing further assistance to Ukraine.

The OP adviser explained that Ukraine can only spend money from its own budget to finance the needs of defence and the Armed Forces, while partner funds are used to support social projects.

There has been a significant increase in support programmes from our European partners. Some governments are increasing budgets for military packages and financial assistance to Ukraine. These are Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and almost all countries are gradually increasing their direct military and financial assistance packages, Podolyak said.

He added that until just this year, the amount of aid Ukraine had received from its partners ranged from 200 to 600 million euros.

Currently, we are talking about receiving aid packages in the amount of billions of euros.

Will Hungary be able to prevent aid from the EU to Ukraine?

The Advisor to the Head of the OP also commented on Hungary's veto on support for Ukraine.

This is not a blocking by some state. The EU has 27 members, one of which is phenomenal - Hungary. Viktor Orban believes that everything must be done to make the EU as weak as possible. We have to continue the dialogue with Hungary, Podolyak explained.

In his opinion, a collective decision of the EU countries to allocate 50 billion euros to Ukraine as part of military aid and for social needs should be made as early as January next year.

Dialogues with Orban will take place at the level of the EU and the European Commission. We will discuss some extremely strange attempts to block aid to Ukraine, the OP representative said.

This is not a blockade by any state. The EU has 27 members, one of which is phenomenal — Hungary. Viktor Orban believes that everything should be done to make the EU as weak as possible. We have to continue the dialogue with Hungary, Podolyak explained.
