Analysts from the Center for Combating Disinformation warn that Kremlin propaganda is actively spreading lies about the alleged authorization of the Ukrainian authorities to take harsh measures in case of protests.
Why is the propaganda of the Russian Federation spreading lies about alleged protest sentiments in Ukraine
It is noted that propaganda Telegram channels controlled by the Kremlin spread the lie that alleged Ukrainian law enforcement officers were allowed to use traumatic weapons, rubber batons and tear gas to quell protests in conditions of social tension.
In particular, Kremlin propagandists are spreading fake photos of the relevant order allegedly signed by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The Center for Combating Disinformation, citing the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Maryana Reva, reports that the so-called order is fake, as is its content.
The document does not meet the requirements of official record keeping. All the rules and grounds for the use of special means are clearly prescribed in the Law "On the National Police" Art. 45 "Application of special means".
How the Russian occupiers spread their own propaganda in the captured Ukrainian territories
According to the representatives of the Center for Combating Disinformation, Russian propaganda has begun to involve pensioners in its own propaganda activities in the occupied Ukrainian territories, following the example of the so-called "Putin squads" operating in Russia, which consist of retired female propagandists.
The CPD notes that the first such group was the so-called "Veterans' Council", which was created in occupied Energodar.
In particular, first of all, retired female propagandists will tell on camera how badly they allegedly lived under the Ukrainian authorities.
With the upcoming pseudo-elections of the president scheduled for March in the Russian Federation, these individuals will campaign for the current Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin.
Pensioners will receive medicine and additional food kits as payment for participation in propaganda activities.
The center reminded that knowingly participating in propaganda organizations, facilitating and justifying the occupation of Ukraine is a crime that entails criminal responsibility.
