Social media across the country are reporting that Kyivstar mobile operator has partially resumed operations after a massive hacker attack on 12 December. The company itself has not yet commented on the matter.
Mobile communication from Kyivstar is coming back
Smartphones of Ukrainians have already started to catch the Kyivstar network.
Reports of this began to appear on social media.
In particular, the gradual restoration of communication is reported in Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih and Mykolaiv.
"Kyivstar" does not yet work in Odesa and in the Odesa region.
Users are recommended to restart the phone for those who have not yet received a connection. You can also enable/disable airplane mode.
Some users note that there is a network, but no internet. It also happens that the phone works for incoming calls, but not for outgoing calls.
Kyivstar management about the status of the operator's resumption of work
Kyivstar's chief operating officer Mykhailo Nestor posted on his Facebook page at 18:20 that mobile communications had been partially restored.
Currently, the company's specialists are working to restore data and SMS services and hope that they will also be restored within a day.
Once the network is fully restored and stabilised, Kyivstar will start preparing and paying compensation to all subscribers and corporate clients who were unable to use the company's services as a result of the hacker attack.
