Lithuania approved a long-term support package to Ukraine for €200 million

Lithuania approved a package of long-term military aid to Ukraine for €200 million. New deliveries for January and February have also been announced.

What is known about the new aid to Ukraine from Lithuania

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda announced a long-term aid package to Ukraine worth €200 million.

We continue to support brave Ukrainians in their struggle by all means: military, economic and political. At the National Defense Council, we approved a package of long-term military aid for €200 million, Nauseda said.

According to the president of Lithuania, his country will send ammunition, generators, and detonation systems to Ukraine in January and M577 armoured personnel vehicles in February.

In particular, Lithuania will train Ukrainian soldiers and strengthen cooperation with Ukraine in the defence industry.

The agreements signed today between the Ukrainian and Lithuanian defense industries are another example of our close military cooperation, Nauseda added.

Zelenskyy's visit to Lithuania

Today, January 10, the President of Ukraine arrived on a visit to Lithuania. He plans to hold negotiations with the president, prime minister, and speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas. In particular, a meeting with representatives of political forces, mass media and the Ukrainian community is expected.

Among the main topics of the negotiations:

  • security;

  • integration into the EU and NATO;

  • cooperation in the EW and drones areas;

  • further coordination of European support.

The president is also expected to visit Latvia and Estonia.
