Ukraine intends to partially transfer the production of drones to Lithuania. This was stated by the head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry, Gabrielus Landsbergis.

Lithuania wants to adopt the experience of Ukraine in the war

Landsbergis added that it would be foolish and irresponsible not to learn the lessons of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He believes that the experience of the war in Ukraine can be relevant for Lithuania.

We can also talk about joint production (of drones — ed.). It seems that the Ukrainians are interested in the possible transfer of part of the production to Lithuania. With our help, and maybe partly for ourselves, if we could provide them with the necessary drones, Landsbergis said.

According to the minister, the way of waging war is changing, so Lithuania should learn from the Ukrainians, who have been fighting against the Russian invasion for almost two years.

A few years ago, before the start of the war, they would not have planned the kind of war that they are waging now, they would not have prepared for the course of the war — that drones and other means are a daily participant in the war. Lithuania can adopt the experience. We understand very well that if we are preparing for war, it may be similar due to geography, due to other circumstances. This experience is relevant for us, said the Lithuanian diplomacy chief.

He insists that it is necessary to learn from Ukrainians now.

Especially since they are ready to open their books about the war to their friends. Such an opportunity is extraordinary. The highest price was paid for the lessons we can learn, he added.

Ukraine will produce one million unmanned aerial vehicles in 2024

During a press conference in December 2023, President Zelenskyy said that Ukraine should produce one million drones in 2024.

I support the production of drones, ammunition, and unit equipment. Infrastructure is needed. Not Soviet, but modern, so that everything works quickly. As for production, we have to produce one million drones next year.

On December 20, Oleksandr Kamyshin, the Minister of Strategic Industry, reported that Ukraine produced more than 50,000 FPV drones in December.
